24 Hours in the Grand Tetons

When you think of the most popular National Parks, often you hear Yellowstone, Yosemite and Zion but you don't often hear of the Grand Tetons. We had originally planned on breezing through the Tetons on our way to Yellowstone but when we arrived to this park, we quickly fell in love and ended up staying a week. That being said, if you only have one day to see the park, here's a guide for how to make the most of your time!

Travel Misadventures: Story #1

I like to post a lot of helpful, informative posts but every once in a while, I'll throw in a post for mere-story telling. This is one of them. When we look at Instagram, it looks like full-time travel is nothing but beautiful scenery and happiness. But I am here to tell you that it's not all glamorous all the time! Travel mishaps and misadventures happen.

5 Day Trips from Rapid City, South Dakota

South Dakota is a truly underrated state. The entire western half of the state is filled with parks, monuments and endless wildlife. Rapid City specifically has tons of history and culture that is worth exploring. The town also acts as a perfect home base for exploring a variety of different parks all within day trip distance. Here are some of the best day trips you can take from Rapid City, South Dakota!

24 Hours in Badlands National Park

Badlands National Park is one that I had neither heard much about nor had at the top of any bucket list. After taking a full day to explore this park, I'm glad to say that the Badlands is well worth the trip out to explore. The park is located in South Dakota which I believe is a rather underrated state. Since we had traveled up from Florida and through endless states of corn fields, we were happy to see scenery changes, especially ones as out-of-this-world as the Badlands. You can absolutely spend more than one day exploring this park but if you have only 24 hours in the area, here's an itinerary to follow so you can make the most of you time here!

Campsite Comparisons: Day 1-10

So we've been on the road for a month and a half now and have stayed in a WIDE variety of campsite locations and overnight options. There are paid campgrounds, free campsites in forests, Walmarts, Breweries, Casinos, and more. I figured It'd be fun to do a pros and cons comparison of all the different places we stayed between Florida and South Dakota.

Kansas City Barbecue Hopping

When you think of BBQ, Kansas City is definitely one of the top cities that comes to mind. When we were planning our big US road trip, we wanted to integrate BBQ into the trip as much as possible. Originally we had the trip carving along the south through Texas but when we flipped it to go counter clockwise instead, we instead got to treat ourselves to Kansas City!

Adventure Diary: Visits with Friends

When we started planning this big US road trip over a year ago, we had the entire route planned out to leave in March and go clockwise along the south and then up the west coast from there. When we decided to postpone until September, we were forced to flip the entire route counter-clockwise and head north through the plains instead.

Iceland 2018 Nostalgia

Back in 2018, I was beyond excited to test out my new GoPro 5 for our big Iceland trip. Little did I know, that the file sizes were going to be too large for my computer to handle when I came home. I tried repeatedly to edit the footage only to have it crash on me over and over again and eventually just gave up.

Adventure Diary: Copake Camping Weekend

I love a good old fashioned adventure diary post! Sometimes it's nice to just share an adventure that I've had with friends without having to do too much research or compiling. So join me as I recap the camping weekend in Copake, NY that I had with some of my girl friends in June! Copake is located just over the Massachusetts border near the Catskill mountains so it's easy to get to from Western Mass where a few of us live. We had good weather and it was the perfect combination of fun, activity, drinks and relaxation.
