10 Reasons Why You Should Use a Travel Agent!

Are Travel Agents and Travel Advisors a thing of the past? Thanks to the internet, travel has become easy to access and easy to research, thus beginning the decline of the travel agent. So why bother consulting a travel agent when you can just DIY your trip? I’ll give you 10 reasons why!

Make sure you read down to the end where I will list out all of the types of travel that we can help you plan! I guarantee it’s more than you expect!

1. Convenience!

Planning trips can be stressful and time consuming, so why not have someone else do it for you? Just sit back and relax and let the travel advisor do the work!

2. Travel Agent can Save you Money!

Travel agents sometimes have access to deals, packages, or upgrades that you won’t be able to get through an online booking website. And even if deals aren’t available, you’re still getting more for your money! The vacations will never cost you more than you could get yourself, but you get the convenience, confidence and help of a travel professional as well!

3. Travel Agent can Save you Time!

Have you found yourself going to the same place over and over again because you don’t have the time to research new destinations? A travel advisor will spend the time to do the research and get everything booked for you. We can take the time to compare options so all you’ll have to do is say yes!

4. Peace of Mind!

Travel is unpredictable. There is always a chance that something could go wrong, but when you book through a travel agent, you’ll have a 24/7 resource available to you in case anything goes wrong. It’s always nice to have someone in your court.

5. Travel Agent Expertise!

A travel agent takes the time to read up on destinations, industry knowledge and current events that may affect your trip so that you don’t have to. For me especially, I love to dig up some “off the beaten path” adventures as well, and would love to share that knowledge with you!

6. Exclusivity!

For large travel agencies like Cruise Planners, travel vendors are able to offer exclusive access to special perks or deals. Whether it’s completely pre-packaged vacations or exclusive onboard travel credits, it’s good to have someone with connections!

7. Personalized Experience!

People are very different when it comes to travel so why would you book cookie cutter vacations? Travel agents take the time to get to know you and exactly what you are looking for. They also take note of any special requests you may need for dietary or medical purposes to make sure your needs are met.

8. Someone in your Court!

Travel agents are your friend! They will go to battle for you to make sure that you get the best vacation possible. They know you personally and would never take advantage of you or steer you wrong!

9. Passion!

Travel agents are unbelievable passionate about travel so they are as excited for your trip as you are. They are counting down the days and looking forward to the photos and stories from you! I guarantee that they will go out of their way to make sure the trip is as wonderful as can be.

10. Travel Agents are Free!

Travel agents make money on commission, so they don’t take a dime out of your pocket. You can reach out, ask for advice and quotes, and decide not to pursue the idea, and it’s of absolutely no cost to you. You really can’t go wrong!

So now that you know WHY you should book with a travel agent, let’s run through WHAT we can help you with!

Stay Wild and Adventure On!

The internet era has made travel more accessible than ever but there are still many reasons to use a travel agent to book your next vacation. Here are 10!
Pin for Later!

  1. My aunt and uncle who travel regularly in retirement, use a travel agent for their adventures. It’s definitely something that makes a lot of sense for certain travelers, and I can appreciate the ease of having someone else there to make all the arrangements for you. Personally, I enjoy planning my trips, particularly since I work in the industry, but if that weren’t the case, I’m sure I would use one as well!

  2. Kristin, Im with you on this. Especially the Disney stuff. In my recent Blog post I touch on how much they help and can do for you. I think in todayโ€™s โ€œExpediaโ€ inspired travel world they have fallen to the wayside. I have also used them for a Jamaica and Mexico trip and they beat Expedia every time.

  3. Travel agents certainly can be handy in planning trips. We used an agent to plan our honeymoon – a multi-island vacation to Hawaii!
