Keeping the Adventure Alive while Working the 9 to 5

Hello, I'm Kristin!

New Englander, designer,

travel planner and adventurer.

I never took the opportunity to study abroad in college, but by the time I realized that I had a real passion for travel, I was already stuck in a 9-5 career with limited vacation time.

I grew up with parents who were both self-employed so we took our one week vacation a year, and made the most of it! As I got older I realized that there were opportunities for adventure outside of the one vacation per year. Every weekend is an opportunity to adventure, every day is an opportunity for a day trip, every detour is an opportunity to explore a new place. I quickly found out that adventures didn't have to be lavish to be enjoyable.

When we started planning this big US road trip over a year ago, we had the entire route planned out to leave in March and go clockwise along the south and then up the west coast from there. When we decided to postpone until September, we were forced to flip the entire route counter-clockwise and head north through the plains instead.
If you haven’t fell down the rabbit hole of RV Renovation on Instagram yet, you’re missing out. Last year during the beginning of the ‘rona, I spent much of my time daydreaming about escaping and adventuring. Kyle and I had begun this plan of selling the house and moving out to Colorado so we’d be able to explore the west for a few years. As the year went on and we started to realize the profit we could make off the house, the trip evolved and turned into a road trip!
Back in 2018, I was beyond excited to test out my new GoPro 5 for our big Iceland trip. Little did I know, that the file sizes were going to be too large for my computer to handle when I came home. I tried repeatedly to edit the footage only to have it crash on me over and over again and eventually just gave up.
